Bar Le Lab and Le Bootlegger: For an atmosphere of the 20s and 30s
As Cocktail Invasion wraps up today with a final day of cocktails and of course the Pearl and Paddock Brunch, we thought we were talking about two out of the ordinary places, Bar Le Lab and Le Bootlegger.
Bar Le Lab and Le Bootlegger : Out of another era
While several bars try to have a rather trendy decor with a clean look and accents based on a rather ephemeral atmosphere. Now these bars, with a totally different atmosphere, take us back in time. It is by a decor and atmosphere directly from the 30s that these establishments will make you spend a pleasant evening.
Bar Le Lab : Two locations to double the pleasure.
The latter is a small modern speakeasy, but easy to find, in the inspiration of the institutions of the Prohibition era, the Lab, cocktail bar is an authentic bar which opened its doors on the Plateau Mont-Royal, in October 2008, almost 10 years ago. In fact, their 10th menu was launched a few days ago. The 2nd cocktail bar of the group led by Fabien Maillard and our cocktail partner Gabrielle Panaccio, opened in September 2016. Big brother of the Lab cocktail counter of the Plateau (1351 rue Rachel East in Montreal), he offers you the same cocktails sought after, created by mixologists, in the warm atmosphere of the underground bars of the roaring twenties. Plus a full kitchen, serving bistro-style food until 10pm every night, and a snack menu available until the wee hours. You will certainly find your dose of pleasure.

Le Bootlegger : The Main’s speakeasy
You will find at Bootlegger, a bar specialized in mixology with a great fondness for whiskey. With its incredible selection of several hundred bottles; Scotch, irish whiskey, rye, bourbon and others. Its speakeasy look reminiscent of the jazz cabarets of the 1920s is inspired by the American prohibition that prevails in the same years. The atmosphere is amazing, and you will dive into another era, it’s warm, intimate and welcoming.
In addition to being specialized in alcoholic beverages, the establishment is one of the few Bar Shows that presents a diverse musical calendar. Practically every evening is accompanied by live musical performances, you can see jazz bands, swing, blues, hip-hop, funk, soul, burlesque and humor. You will not get bored at the Bootlegger. We will have an interview with the founder Christ Desjardins in our summer magazine.
